The process of sawing causes the edge of the saw tooth to become warm. As this happens, the tension in the body of the saw moves out towards the tooth edge and keeps the tooth edge straight while sawing. If there is not enough tension in the body of the saw, the tooth edge will drift while cutting. Because the tooth edge of the saw blade expands and contracts many times during the cutting process, this is considered normal wear and tear. This problem can be fixed by re-tensioning and releveling the saw blade. Gerling's line of Tension Machinery does just that. They offer many features, such as:
- Simple operation
- Easy maintenance
- Short training period
- Fast and accurate changeover to different saw blade sizes
